Seven Steers Welcomed to Graze at Morris Farm

We are thrilled to announce some wonderful new additions to our pastures this week! Seven healthy steers have officially arrived at The Commons at Morris Farm to spend their season grazing across our lush green fields.

These fine bovine guests come to us through our fantastic community partnership with Straws Farm. Collaborative farming efforts like this lie at the very heart of our mission—working hand-in-hand with local partners to keep Maine's agricultural traditions thriving, vibrant, and sustainable.

Supporting Our Pastures and Local Farming

Rotational grazing isn't just great for the steers—it plays a vital role in maintaining the health of our soil and pasture ecosystems. As the herd moves through the fields, they help naturally manage vegetation, nourish the soil, and encourage robust regrowth throughout the season.

We are deeply grateful to Straws Farm for partnering with us to make this happen, and we look forward to watching these seven steers enjoy their summer grazing at Morris Farm.
