Our Story

There is a rhythm to the midcoast, a steady pulse shaped by the tides, the timber, and the people who tend to the earth. For nearly a century, that pulse has beat strongest right here on Gardiner Road.

It started back in the 1930s with Al Morris and a herd of dairy cows. As the world sped up around it, this patch of 48 rolling acres remained a sanctuary. Decades later, when the threat of development loomed, our neighbors didn’t just look the other way—they stepped up. They linked arms, raised their voices, and ensured this land would forever remain what it was always meant to be: a working farm, held in trust by the community, for the community.

Today, a beautiful new morning is breaking over these fields.

In partnership with the Maine Farmland Trust, we are opening a fresh chapter as The Commons at Morris Farm.

To us, "The Commons" isn’t just a name on a sign. It’s an open invitation. It’s the belief that the best things in life are the things we share. It’s where the timeless heritage of traditional haying and sheep grazing meets modern, sustainable innovation. It’s a place where kids can get their hands dirty learning where their food comes from, and where our roadside share shed stands as a quiet promise that no neighbor in our community goes hungry.

We’re building a bridge between Maine’s incredible network of independent makers and your kitchen table. Through our reimagined farm stand and a new digital storefront, we are making it easier than ever to support the growers and creators who give Maine its character.

But more than anything, The Commons is a place to simply be. It’s a network of quiet wooded trails to wander, a porch to sit on, and a community to belong to.
