The Commons x RNZY

A person in a hoodie and Crocs checks out items at a table inside a rustic wooden building with a second-floor balcony. A sign advertises free gifts of flowers and candles for moms on Mother's Day, and a white sign with black letters is visible.

The Story of RNZY

RNZY began in 2017 with no investors, no warehouse, and no inventory.

In fact, we started with exactly what we had around our apartment.

A couple pairs of shoes from the closet. An extra toaster from the kitchen. A few wooden bowls we no longer needed.

At the time, we were both working traditional jobs. We weren’t chasing the idea of building a large company—we were chasing freedom. We wanted to create an income that wasn’t dependent on having a boss and build a future that we controlled ourselves.

Every dollar from those first sales was reinvested back into the business. What started with selling our own belongings quickly evolved into sourcing products locally, then working with other businesses, and eventually building a full-scale e-commerce company.

Who Is RNZY?

RNZY is Ryan and Lindsay.

We’re a husband-and-wife team who believe that ordinary people can build extraordinary businesses through hard work, continuous learning, and a commitment to creating value for others.

What started as two people selling a few extra household items has grown into a business that supports our family, creates meaningful careers for our team, and helps other businesses reach customers across the country. While our company has grown, we’ve never lost sight of the fact that every product we sell represents someone’s hard work, someone’s dream, and someone’s livelihood.

That perspective continues to shape how we operate every day.

Building a Business, Not Just Selling Products

Our first “warehouse” was simply an extra closet in our apartment.

Back then, Facebook Marketplace didn’t offer shipping. Every sale meant meeting customers in person—at grocery store parking lots, post offices, or local police stations. We weren’t just learning how to sell products; we were learning how to build trust with every interaction.

As the business grew, so did our thinking.

We became obsessed with creating systems that were repeatable, predictable, and profitable. We believed that long-term success wasn’t about getting lucky—it was about building a business that consistently worked. We focused on sourcing inventory efficiently, pricing products intelligently, and developing fulfillment systems that could scale without sacrificing quality or customer experience.

Within just a few months, we realized RNZY could become much more than a side business. We made the decision to leave our jobs and commit to building the company full time.

As we expanded beyond local sales and began shipping products nationwide, demand grew quickly. In 2018, we hired our very first employee to help manage shipping. That team member is still with us today and marked the beginning of building a company rather than simply running a business ourselves.

Over the years, we’ve sold on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, and Poshmark, but the biggest transformation came when we embraced live commerce through Whatnot.

Live selling allowed us to connect with customers in real time, creating an interactive shopping experience unlike traditional e-commerce. Instead of selling products one listing at a time, we could build relationships while selling hundreds—and sometimes even thousands—of items in a single day.

For the past five years, RNZY has generated seven figures in annual sales. Today, our team includes specialists in shipping and live commerce, and we continue expanding as new opportunities emerge.

More Than an E-Commerce Business

The biggest change over the years hasn’t been our sales.

It’s been our purpose.

RNZY was originally created to provide an opportunity for our own family. As we grew, that opportunity expanded to creating meaningful, well-paying careers for our team. Today, our mission has grown even further.

We now use the audience, systems, and experience we’ve built to help other small businesses reach customers they may never have reached on their own. Through our live e-commerce platform, we’re able to introduce artisan makers, family-owned companies, and growing brands to thousands of customers in an authentic and engaging way.

We believe small businesses deserve the same opportunities that large brands enjoy.

Looking Ahead

The next chapter of RNZY is deeply connected to the future of Morris Farm Commons.

RNZY will operate the Farm Stand at Morris Farm Commons, serving as the economic engine that helps power the broader mission of the farm. We believe a successful farm stand should do more than sell products—it should create opportunity throughout the local community.

Our vision is to build a marketplace where local farms, food producers, artisans, and small businesses can thrive together. The more local businesses we support, the stronger our local economy becomes. The more local farms we partner with, the greater impact we can have on preserving agriculture, strengthening our food system, and creating lasting opportunity for the people who make our communities special.

We don’t see ourselves as simply running a farm stand. We see ourselves as building a platform that connects incredible local producers with customers who genuinely want to support them.

Everything we’ve learned through building RNZY—from live commerce and e-commerce to logistics, customer service, and fulfillment—is now being used to help grow something much bigger than ourselves.

What We Believe

We believe ordinary people can build extraordinary businesses with the right systems, discipline, and persistence.

We believe healthy businesses create healthy communities.

And above all, we believe success isn’t measured solely by revenue—it’s measured by the opportunities we create for others.

What started with a few items from an apartment closet has grown into a business dedicated to creating opportunity for our family, our team, our partners, local farms, small businesses, and the communities we’re proud to serve.

We’re just getting started.
